Sweet 62 and never been blogged

OK, so here I am writing my first blog post and wondering 2 things: 1) what am I doing? and 2) what took me so long? It is my intent to blog routinely primarily about art-making, with some news and family, gardening, quilting, and other becky-home-ec-y topics thrown in. 

So, why am I starting this now? Among the many reasons- I turned 62 in May, officially retired from ... you know, other stuff, and I feel like this new chapter of the story of my life deserves special framing and fancy gift-wrapping. It is my intent to focus more seriously on my art and developing my art business and that intent needs witnesses to keep me honest (hope someone reads this). Arlo, Jen and Annabell just left after a good but short visit and I feel a need to be busy to keep the sad-monster away - so a new blogging project will help. The other reasons will surface in time...

Anyway, first blog done. Tomorrow, blog about art. Now, however, I plan to go outside to dig in the dirt.
